Yin Yin (often written as YĪN YĪN) is a Dutch band from Maastricht whose sound blends psychedelia, funk, disco, and Southeast Asian music. The group started with a jam session in 2017 between Yves Lennertz and Kees Berkers, who made their first recordings in a ballet school. They were later joined by Remy Scheren and Robbert Verwijlen. Their debut release, the single "Dion Ysiusk," came out in 2018, followed by their first full-length album, *The Rabbit That Hunts Tigers*, on Bongo Joe Records in 2019.
After building a following with shows including the Lowlands festival, the band paused touring due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During lockdowns, they wrote and recorded their second album, *The Age of Aquarius*, released in 2022. Lennertz left in 2023 and was replaced by Erik Bandt. Drawing new inspiration from Japanese music, the band issued their third album, *Mount Matsu*, in 2024. On January 10, 2025, Verwijlen departed and was replaced by Jerry Scherry. Yin Yin has also released several EPs and singles, and their fourth studio album, *Yatta!*, is scheduled for 2026.
